Orientation & Safety Class Schedule Page

We are limiting the number to 25 member volunteers for the 1st Saturday and 25 volunteers for the 3rd Sunday in keeping with recommendations to help prevent the spread of Covid. You must be on the list to be allowed into the facility. Due to Covid-19, we currently can only accept 25 volunteers per orientation date per Broward County. If the 25 person limit has been exceeded for your selected date, please sign up for the next available date that fits your schedule. Thank you for your understanding as we navigate getting back to our normal orientation & safety training. If you are ready to sign up please click here.

In order to become a "F.R.I.E.N.D.S.  VOLUNTEER MEMBER",  we require the following;

Participants are required to become a "volunteer member" in order to participate on Tues., Thurs., Sat. and Sun. If you have not yet signed up as a member you may do so here.

Once you have signed up to become a "volunteer member", you are required to attend the 1-hour Orientation & Safety Class and then volunteer "hands-on" for two hours that day. So, you will complete a total of 3 hours on your first day. No experience is needed and all ages are welcome to participate!

WHAT EVERY VOLUNTEER SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU GO TO THE RANCH!

Regular daily chores include: dump/scrub/fill water buckets and troughs, stall cleaning, pasture cleaning, bathing, grooming, braiding, feeding, mowing grass, painting, maintenance, and anything else that might need to be done that day.

Please wear closed-toe shoes or boots. Attire is casual, jeans or shorts and a t-shirt. Please do not wear jewelry or clothes that are important to you as they may get ripped, lost or stained. We still need volunteers when it is hot, cold, or rainy.

During the summer months, you may want to bring sunscreen, bug repellent, rubber boots, a raincoat, and work gloves. However, none of these items are required.

Please bring a small cooler with your own drinks and snacks as we do not have a refrigerator or vending machines.

To register for the required Orientation & Safety Class,  follow the instructions BELOW BY FILLING OUT THE DATE OF YOUR CHOICE AND CONFIRMING YOUR RESERVATION. Please bring a copy of your membership receipt and a valid form of ID.  If you are a minor, a parent or legal guardian must come in and sign the releases and waivers.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
