FACILITY LOCATION: 19801 SHERIDAN STREET. Go West on Sheridan; FRIENDS is on the right or north side of the road. Look for our big blue sign! (The ranch is closed to non-members Monday through Friday except by appointment. We are open to those interested in our program on the weekends during the hours listed below.) Turn in and follow the gravel road all the way to its end until you see the ranch parking lot.

On Saturdays the gate is open and first time volunteers should arrive anytime from 1PM until about 5PM for the initial visit at which time you will receive the volunteer packet and all needed information regarding the volunteer program and your assignment to specific tasks and times that are compatible with your needs and schedule.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S., Inc. is a non-profit sponsor-a-horse program. F.R.I.E.N.D.S.,Inc. rescues EIA (Equine infectious Anemia) positive horses, which would otherwise be destroyed. We are a quarantine facility with 50+ horses. Our facility works closely with animal physicians hoping for a cure or vaccine for EIA. All donated funds go to the care of our horses. Our ranch provides an alternative to euthanasia for the horses and an opportunity for our members to enjoy the companionship of a horse, which is otherwise too expensive for many people. We have numerous functions where the whole family can participate.

FEEDING THE HORSES:

We need help with the feeding of the horses 3 days a week! MONDAY,WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY FROM 9AM TO 12 NOON.The feeding help starts at 9AM and is usually completed by noon BUT....if it is your first time please call Lynne Mandry first to schedule an initial visit .

WATERING AND STALL CLEANING:

If TUESDAYS AND/OR THURSDAYS are  better days for you to volunteer, we also have a critical need on those days for watering and stall cleaning which begins about 3:30 until completed! Please call BOBBY first at the number below prior to coming out ! We also need help with stall cleaning on Saturday and Sunday as well. Call BOBBY BARWICK at 954-609-5943 if you can volunteer on Tuesdays or Thursdays and he can meet you at the ranch on those dates at an agreed upon time 3:30 or later. Sunday hours are from 1:00PM to 5:00PM.   Someone will also be available AFTER 3PM on Sundays to answer all your questions regarding our "sponsor-a-horse" program in which you will be able to have, care for and ride a horse of your own!
