BUILD-A-BEAR

F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is very grateful to have been chosen by such a fine organization that promotes the activities of the many needed animal shelters, pet rescues, and pet education programs that make so many children happy. We are appreciative to be one of the organizations to receive the philanthropic support of BUILD-A-BEAR;so that we may continue our animal rescue activities. THANK YOU BUILD-A-BEAR!

The Build-A-Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation is committed to making life more bearable for children, families and pets, in need of a helping paw. With the sale of each full-sized Bearemy’s Kennel Pals® friend -- a collection of Build A Bear Workshop® plush dogs -- one dollar is donated to domestic pet programs including local animal shelters, stray pet rescue and rehabilitation organizations, and pet education programs around the country. DONATED VACCINES

UNWANTED HORSE VETERINARY HORSE RELIEF CAMPAIGN
AIDS MORE THAN 25,000 HORSES IN THEIR FIRST YEAR

In 2009, The American Association of Equine Practitioners and Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health created the Unwanted Horse Veterinary Relief Campaign whose goal was to help non profit 501 (c) 3 organizations by providing them with the much needed yearly vaccinations for horses that were rescued in the United States. The process to obtain these much needed vaccines consisted of filling out an application which had to be submitted along with a Veterinary Checklist for the Rescue and or the Retirement Facilitiy that had to be filled out by a licensed Veterinarian. The vaccines available were PreveNile- West Nile, EquiRab- Rabies and the Prestige V- five way that contained the Flu Strains, EHV-1, EHV-4, EEE, WEE and Tetanus. We were one of the very lucky and very appreciative organizations chosen to receive enough vaccinations to do half of our herd. We are so very grateful for all their efforts and assistance. We would also like to thank Dr. J.W. Hilton for helping us by filling out the extensive paperwork to make us eligible as a recipient. With the downward spiraling economy these donated vaccinations saved us a lot of money. Vaccination can be extremely costly for 50 horses and we simply didn't have the money to do it. Because of their generosity, the entire herd did get vaccinated in October and are all safe from deadly diseases until October 2010.
Thank you so much for helping us to keep the horses safe!
