Bequests are tremendously important to assure F.R.I.E.N.D.S. future as a provider of humane care for equines in the state of Florida. Bequests include a sum of money, a deferred gift, a gift of real estate, a gift of residuary estate, an endowment and other types.
For those of you that wish to bequest a larger or ongoing amount, financial planners will tell you your will is an important legal document that ensures your assets are passed on according to your wishes. Your desire for a more humane world for horses can be carried out through your charitable bequests
Whenever a donor discloses a provision in his or her will for F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Rescue , the rescue can consider this expectancy in its long range planning. Donors are encouraged to put a copy of the relevant will on file with F.R.I.E.N.D.S. A person can indicate a specific bequest to F.R.I.E.N.D.S. or bequeath a percentage of the residual of their estate.
Examples are fixed dollar amounts, real estate or personal property, life insurance, and securities. F.R.I.E.N.D.S. can be designated as a beneficiary on your life insurance policy, your retirement accounts and your bank and brokerage accounts if you so desire. Other donation options include Corporate Matching Gifts and Honorary or Memorial Gifts.
A benefactor of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. can also bequeath a farm or residence to the rescue and retain life estate. An individual can obtain a current income tax deduction by making a charitable gift of a personal residence or farm while retaining the right to occupy the residence or operate the farm for the duration of his or her life. All bequests and gifts to F.R.I.E.N.D.S. are deductible from the donor's adjusted gross estate, thus reducing estate taxes.
